Lind died July 20, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas He was born June 30, 1961 in Lubbock to Ernest and Horacey Lee (Goodwin) Hawkins. He married Sherri Chambers in Lubbock in February of 2002.

Background:
Lind moved from Levelland to Sundown over seven years ago. He was a cook. Lind was preceded in death by his father, Ernest and a nephew, Cedric Hawkins in 2011.

Survivors include, his wife, Sherri; three sons, Gerome Hawkins of Morton, Texas, Shaundon Basped of Clovis, New Mexico, and Devon Miller of Morton, Texas; two daughters, Nydia Young of Sundown, Texas and Lakisha Chambers of Sundown, Texas; his mother, Horacey Lee of Morton; four sisters, Ernestine Smith of Dallas, Texas, JoRuth Hawkins of Morton, Texas, Sandra Hawkins of Morton, Texas and Lisa Leaks of Lubbock, Texas; four brothers, Eugene Hawkins of Morton, Texas, Keith Hawkins of Lubbock, Texas, Anthony Hawkins of Morton, Texas and Mark Hawkins of Odessa, Texas; and four grandchildren.
