John H. died Thursday, February 19, 2015 in Lubbock. He was born November 14, 1942 to John H. and Myrtle (Stevenson) Puckett, Sr. in Amherst, Texas.

John H. was a lifelong resident of the Muleshoe community. He owned and operated Puckett Trucking Co., and enjoyed volunteering at the Bailey County Jr. Livestock Show every year. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include, his son, Johnny Puckett of Amarillo, Texas; his daughter, Connie Taylor and her husband, Bryan of Muleshoe, Texas; four sisters, Mary Janice Brantley of Muleshoe, Texas, Chat Mobley of Phoenix, Arizona, Wilma Nicewarner of Amarillo, Texas and Joyce Scott of Muleshoe, Texas; two brothers, D.W. Puckett of Muleshoe, Texas and Eddie Puckett of Sweetwater, Texas; two grandchildren, Brittany Chesser and her husband, Nick and Myles James; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Jett Chesser.
