Obituary for Winston Jerden

Winston   Jerden
Winston died March 13, 2015 in Morton. He was born March 4, 1925 in Carlisle, Texas to Henry Charles and Minnie Mable (Taylor) Jerden. He married Dorothy Taylor in Morton, Texas on July 7, 1950.

Winston served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a postal worker for the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and received his 65 year pin. Winston was also a member of the American Legion. He loved camping and fishing, and he liked working on his farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morton, where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School. Winston was preceded in death by his daughter, Kerry Ann; his parents; and four brothers, Prentis, Glen, Sterling and Burney.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Becky Kennedy and her husband, Martin of Willis, Texas, Tobie Gattis and her husband, Randy of Morton, Texas and Kim Escobar and her husband, Richard of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
