Bertha died March 25, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born November 13, 1929 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Carrolll and Virginia (Hensley) Merrell. She married Walter "Buster" Rendon in Anahuac, Texas on August14, 1970.

Bertha moved to Fort Worth from Muleshoe in 2014. She was an avid reader, and she always supported wounded veterans. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Buster; her parents; and her sister, LaVerne Adrian.

Survivors include, three daughters, Sherry Clement and her husband, Brian of Fort worth, Texas, Lillian Hewett of Amarillo, Texas and Brenda Barragan and her husband, Gilbert of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
