Ethel died April 16, 2015 in Muleshoe. She was born May 25, 1922 in Oklahoma to Roy and Alene Henderson. She was married William Clinton Garlington until he passed away in 1973. She was then married James Robert Murray until he passed away in 1976.

Ethel lived in Muleshoe for many years. She was sales clerk and a member of the Muleshoe Primitive Baptist Church. She loved to work in her yard and garden. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, William Garlington; her husband, James Murray; two sons, Jerry William Garlington and Robert Allan Garlington; one grandson, Dwayne Garlington; one sister, Marie Bixler; and a brother, R.J. Henderson.

Survivors include her son, Loyd Garlington and his wife, Louvenia of Muleshoe, Texas; her daughter, Sandra Edge of Bloomfield, New Mexico; two brothers, Jack Henderson of Muleshoe, Texas and Floyd Henderson of Camp Verde, Arizona; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
