Barry died April 20, 2015 in Lubbock. He was born February 15, 1936 in Lamb County, Texas to G.C. and Mildred (Worley) Bearden. He married Linda Humphreys in Amherst on March 17, 1956.

Barry moved to Lubbock from Dublin, Texas in 2015. Before moving to Dublin, he had lived in Amherst since 1942, and farmed there for 52 years. He was a Deacon and a member of the First Baptist Church in Amherst. He loved watching all of his grandkids and great-grandkids play sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Bearden.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Ronnie Bearden and his wife, Juliet of Las Vegas, Nevada and Steven Bearden and his wife, Lori of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Tonya Bourland and her husband, Phil of Liberty Hill, Texas; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Bourland of Leander, Texas, Heather Archer of Austin, Texas, Josh Bourland of Hutto, Texas, Jason Bearden of Sarasota, Florida, Jessica Cole of Fishkill, New York, Jori Celestial of Pflugerville, Texas, Jennifer Lewis of Dallas, Texas, Kendra Straughn of Hutto, Texas, Kayla Stojek of Round Rock, Texas and Dalyn Bearden of Lubbock; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
