Betty died August 24, 2015. She was born December 7, 1952 in Morton to Eddie and Lillian (Dukatnik) Silhan.

Betty was born and raised in Morton, Texas, and had lived in the Ruidoso area for the last 35 years. She was a dedicated nurse, and loved taking care of her patients. She worked at the Mescalero Indian Hospital and Lincoln County Hospital. Betty enjoyed snow skiing and hiking. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Jerryd Silhan.

Survivors include two sons, Abram Beier of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Auston Beier and his fiancé, Kayla Yerxa of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Alexa Beier of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two brothers, Jerry Silhan of Morton, Texas and David Silhan of Morton, Texas; and two grandchildren, Cayden Beier and Brook Beier.
