Church Service for Maria J. Chacon, 71, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe.. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery. Maria died Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born June 18, 1944 in Nuevo Casas Grandes Mexico.

Maria was a homemaker in Muleshoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Modesto Muniz; her parents; and one brother.

Survivors include, one son, Jose Muniz and his wife, Tirsa of Muleshoe, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Rodriguez and her husband, Martin of Muleshoe, Texas and Luz Marie Flores and her husband, Jesus of Muleshoe, Texas; five sisters; eight brothers; six grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
