Church Services for Eloise Lindley Wilson, age 94, of Muleshoe, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Muleshoe with Dr. Stacy Conner
officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park. Mrs. Wilson died May 2, 2016 at 4:00 PM in Lubbock. She was born June 17, 1921 in Abilene, Texas to David Carlton and Lula May (Mills) Lindley. She married R.G. Wilson Jr. in Earth, Texas on September 16, 1945.

Mrs. Wilson graduated from Littlefield High School in May 1939. She attended Wayland College for two years and Hardin-Simmons University for one year. She began her teaching career in September of 1942 at Springlake, Texas. She attended West Texas State in the summers, working toward her degree in Elementary Education. She returned to Hardin-Simmons University the summer of 1945 to complete her degree. Eloise taught at Springlake for four years, then stayed home with her children until they moved to Petersburg, Texas in 1958. She taught seven years at Petersburg. In June 1965, the family moved to Muleshoe and she taught in the Muleshoe schools for twenty-two years. In 1987, she retired with thirty-three years of experience teaching. Mrs. Wilson loved her yard, garden and being at home. She developed a love for walking. She also loved going to the Tech Red Raiders football games. She attended every home game over a forty-two year span. Her husband, R.G. Wilson passed away on February 19, 1997. She is also preceded in death by her son, Preston; two brothers; and four sisters.

Eloise is survived by two of three sons, Lindell and his wife, Esther of Crane, Texas, their daughter, Amy and her husband, Doug Swiney and their three children, Mitchell, Kyle and Harley of Midland, Texas; Darrell of Phflugerville, Texas and his two sons, Wayne and his wife, Patricia and their four children, Walker, Emma, Hallie and Olive of Waxahachie, Texas and Taylor and his wife, Carrie and their son Aiden of Frisco, Texas; Preston’s wife Lashelle and their daughter, Maura of San Antionio, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
