Obituary for Zulema Gomez (Pena)
Church Service for Zulema Gomez Age 76, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe with Father Leo Pahamtang officiating. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Ellis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery. Zulema died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in Lubbock. She was born October 3, 1939 in San Diego, Texas to Leonardo and Maria deJesus (Cassos) Pena. She married Mario in San Diego, Texas on February 1953.
Zulema was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by a son, Gilbert Gomez; her parents; and one brother, Daniel Pena.
Survivors include her husband, Mario; three sons, Mario Gomez Jr. of Muleshoe, Texas, Bennie Gomez of Muleshoe, Texas and Gilbert Alexander Gomez of Pueblo, Colorado; seven daughters, Mary Rudd and her husband, Brian of Pueblo, Colorado, Julie Greene of Panama City, Florida, Juaquina Lopez of Midland, Texas, Janie Gomez of Dallas, Texas, Drusilla Gossett and her husband, Jeff of Pueblo, Colorado, Connie Anderson of Muleshoe, Texas and Phoebe Gomez of Bovina, Texas; two sisters, Jovita Hernandez of Clovis, New Mexico and Kina Trejo of Alice, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
