Church Service for Evelyn Ellington, 87, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Brother Jeff Coffman officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park. Evelyn died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Muleshoe. She was born August 24, 1928 in Weinert, Texas to G.W. and Birdie (Sanders) Alexander. She married Carl Milton Ellington in Lubbock, Texas on January 17, 1947.

Evelyn had lived in Muleshoe since 1954, moving from Lubbock. She and her husband owned and operated Carl’s Meat Market in Muleshoe from 1960 until 1980. She also coordinated Muleshoe Meals on Wheels for a number of years. Evelyn was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Muleshoe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 2003 and her parents.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Ed Ellington of Portales, New Mexico; her daughter, Carla Greene of Muleshoe, Texas; two brothers, Thomas Alexander of San Antonio, Texas and J.C. Alexander of Veneta, Oregon; three grandchildren, April Roberts, Kayla Alvarado and LaNell Puckett; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Puckett and Viola Puckett.
