Church Service for Douglas Parish Age 79, of Earth, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, June 17, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Earth with Rev. Charlie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery. Douglas died June 10, 2016 in Earth. He was born March 26, 1937 in Plainview, Texas to Gus and Emma Belle (Carter) Parish. He married Helen June Gregory in Earth on June 29, 1956.

Doug lived in the Earth community all of his life except for 2 years spent in the Army. He was a farmer while managing the KMP Manufacturing Company. He was also active in Lions Club. Doug was a member of the Earth Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He was also on the city council and was a former mayor. He enjoyed doing community service. Doug always valued his time at the coffee shop. He is preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents; three brothers, Gus Jr., K.B. and Charles Parish; and one sister, Mary Miller Burkett.

Survivors include his three daughters, Stephanie Tankersley and husband, Randy of Lubbock, Joy Huber and husband, Billy of Keller, and Angie Milner and husband, Robert of Pflugerville, ; three sisters, Margaret Riddle of Plainview, Charlene McFatter of Odessa, and Carolyn Gibson of San Jon, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Dr. Stevie Daniel and husband, Trevor, Nichelle Huber, James Douglas Tankersley and wife, Marie, Kaleigh Tankersley, Michael Milner, Shelby Huber and Zachery Douglas Milner.
