Church Service for Margaret Elizabeth Adams, age 97, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at First United Meethodist Church in Muleshoe with Mindy McLanahan of Muleshoe and Curtis Shelburne of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery in Garner, Texas at 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016. Margaret died July 1, 2016 in Muleshoe. She was born August 8, 1918 in Parker County, Texas to William Henry and Cleopatra (Smith) McMillan. She married J K Adams in Garner, Texas on May 23, 1941.

Margaret had lived in Muleshoe since 1944. She worked for the US Post Office for many years. Margaret was also a hostess in the kitchen at the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She worked side by side with her husband, J K, helping the 4-H kids with their projects and designed the exhibits that were held at local, county and state fairs. Margaret’s greatest gift was that of a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, J K in 2014; a daughter, Joyce Marie Beadle; her parents; her sister, Mary Ann Miller; and her two brothers, Joe Hampton McMillan and Bill McMillan.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Adams and his wife, Gail of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Kathryn Carlson, Anna Sirotek and Jessica Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Carlson and Emma Grace Carlson.
