Memorial Service for Gwen West, age 87, formerly of Sudan, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Sudan with Michael Kelley and Robert Roecker officiating. Gwen died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas. She was born January 15, 1929 in Chilicothe, Texas to Earl Wilson and Stella Jane (Billings) Chester. She married Richard "Dick" West in Sudan, Texas on March 7, 1948.

Gwen was a member of the Sudan and Littlefield Senior Citizens and was active in the Retired Senior Citizens Volunteer Program. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sudan. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Dick in 1991 and her parents.

Gwen is survived by two daughters, Judy Kelley and her husband, Gary of Canyon, Texas, and Jana Synatschk and her husband, James of Sudan, Texas; five grandchildren, Kristy Slough and her husband, Greg and son, Blaine of Gruver, Texas, Amber Houchin and her husband, Trent and daughter, Tara of Sudan, Texas, Eric Kelley and his wife, Jenni and daughters, Emma, Ella and Mayah, and sons, Will and Isaiah of Knoxville, Tennessee, Michael Kelley and his wife, Jana and daughter, Andi, and sons, Joshua and Christian of Brentwood, Tennessee and Jeffrey Kelley and his wife, Noelle and daughter, Aurora, and sons, Elijah and Desi of Nolensville, Tennessee; and her brother, Billy Chester and his wife, Sue of Sudan, Texas.
