Church Service for Truman Layman, age 74, of Earth, is scheduled for 11:00 am, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at The Earth United Methodist Church with Rev. Pat Boone- Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery. Truman died July 18, 2016 in Littlefield, Texas. He was born August 9, 1941 in Littlefield, Texas to Donald and Mamie (Vaughn) Layman. He married Yvonne Hendon on June 14, 1963.

Truman served on the Earth Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, during this time he served as Fire Chief and also helped with Earth EMS. He served three terms on the Earth City Council during the 1980’s and was named Earth Chamber Man of the Year in 1986. He was a member of the Earth United Methodist Church. Truman was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Layman.

Survivors include his wife Yvonne Layman of Earth, Texas. Three daughters, Page Daniel and her husband Albert of Muleshoe,Texas., Lacy Mayfield and her husband Randy of Petersburg, Texas., and Kit Kravetz and her husband Michael of Katy, Texas. Two brothers Don Layman of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Troy Layman of Lubbock, Texas; Six Grandchildren, Haydan Daniel, Landrie Bach, Rance and Mallory Mayfield, and Rianne and Madison Kravetz, two Great-Grandchildren, Holden and Hadlee Bach.
