Church service for Norma Phillips Age 79, of Sudan, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Sudan with Truman Johnson of Lubbock, Texas and Mike Woods of Sudan officiating. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery. Norma died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Lubbock. She was born November 12, 1937 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Tom and Edna (Scalf) Humphrey. She married Robert L. 'Pete' Phillips in Clovis, New Mexico in 1954.

Norma graduated from Dumas High School in 1954. She moved to Sudan, Texas in 1958 and worked for Smallwood and Harmon Field Insurance Companies. She also worked at several hospitals and nursing homes, including the old and new hospitals in Amherst, the Muleshoe hospital and Harmonee House in the business offices. Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sudan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete in August of this year; her parents; her sister, Wanda Humphrey; and her brother, Charles Humphrey.

Norma is survived by her son, Bobby Phillips and his wife, Tanna of Sudan, Texas; her two daughters, Deanna Humphreys and her husband, Kevin of Sudan, Texas and Chyrel Mitchell and her husband, Corey of Lubbock; her sister, Verna Polk of Amarillo, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Kris Humphreys and his wife, Tara, Kasey Ledbetter and her husband, Aaron, Tori Chumbley, Chase Chumbley, Cole Chumbley, Carson Phillips and Rori Phillips; and her seven great-grandchildren.
