Obituary for Wanda Ruth Baker (Mitchell)
Wanda Ruth Baker died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in San Angelo. She was born November 27, 1930 in Harmony, Texas to Alvin A. and Thelma (Brown) Mitchell. She married Jacque Baker in Anton, Texas on January 26, 1951.
Wanda graduated from Anton High School in 1948 and attended Abilene Christian College. She was a homemaker and a member of the Muleshoe Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jacque in 2005 and her parents.
Wanda is survived by her four sons, Rand Baker and his wife, Jane of Katy, Texas, Craig Baker and his wife, Debbie of San Antonio, Texas, Brad Baker and his wife, Mary of San Angelo, Texas and Scott Baker of Austin, Texas; her sister, Brownie Jane Giddens of Lubbock, Texas; her two brothers, Alvin Mitchell of Abilene, Texas and Rodger Mitchell of Arlington, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, New Mexico, 88130 or the Children’s Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Road, Lubbock, Texas, 79403.
