Frances Price Gardner died Monday, May 29, 2017 in San Marcos. She was born January 11, 1927 in Breckenridge, Texas to Newton G and Odessa (Toland) Price. She married Douglas A. Gardner in Breckenridge on February 8, 1944.

Frances served as the church secretary for the First Baptist Church in Sudan for 25 years. She was a member of the Sudan Area Senior Citizens for numerous years, as well as the First Baptist Church in Sudan. Frances was selected as the Sudan Woman of the Year in 1987, and recognized as by Running Water Draw RSVP for her volunteer service and commitment. She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas in 1980; her parents; her sister, Zonelle Anderson; and her two brothers, Wiley Price and Bill Price. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Cora Price, who was instrumental in raising her to adulthood.

Frances is survived by her three sons, Jim Gardner and his wife, Marilyn of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Bob Gardner and his wife, Belinda of San Marcos, Texas and Bill Gardner and his wife, Teresa of Leander, Texas; her four daughters, Kathy Colvin of San Marcos, Texas, Patricia Turner and her husband, Steve of Eunice, New Mexico, Vicki Bowery of White Deer, Texas and Diana Childers and her husband, Tony of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
