Obituary for Doris June Martin (Keele)
Doris June (Keele) Martin died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Farwell. She was born November 1, 1928 in Burnett, Texas to James Milton and Lucile (Land) Keele. She married James Preston Martin in Hereford, Texas on June 11, 1947.
Doris loved to be a hostess for everyone. Her family and her church were her life. She was a member of the 5th Street Church of Christ in Farwell. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Preston in 2016; her parents; two sisters, Gloria Teague and Bonnie Cobb; a brother, Doman Keele; and a grandson, Byron Martin.
Doris is survived by her four sons, Greg Martin and his wife, Sydney of Grady, New Mexico, Tim Martin and his wife, Susie of Dadeville, Missouri, Kirt Martin and his wife, Nancy of Lubbock, Texas and Keith Martin and his wife, Debbie of Crane, Texas; her daughter, Paula Vaughan and her husband, Kent of Earth, Texas; two sisters, Rheba Wilson of Bryan, Texas and Nancy Claborn of Waco, Texas; a brother, J.E. Keele of Santa Fe, New Mexico; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to 5th Street Church of Christ, 510 Avenue C, Farwell, Texas, 79325.
