Obituary for Judy Mimms

Judy Mimms
Judy Mimms went home on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in her home in Clovis, New Mexico. She was the wife of Kelly Mimms. They shared 29 wonderful years together.

Born in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Merl and Dorothy Salsbury. She spent most of her young life working for her parents in the donut business in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Judy was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis for over 30 years. It was there that she met Kelly, who was the love of her life.

She and Kelly were partners in their creation of The BBQ Shop in Farwell, Texas. The shop was an excellent outlet for Judy’s gift of hospitality and cooking.

Judy is survived by husband, Kelly Mimms of the home, 8 grandchildren, Josh, Amanda, Alyssa, Zack, Jade, Sara, Alleigh, and Jordan, 6 great-grandchildren, Nolan, McKenna, Landon, Brooklyn, Jaelyn, and Aurora, and her children, Cari and Mitch Ellis of San Angelo, Texas, Shannon and John Ledbetter of Lubbock, Texas, and Stephen and Rita Perry of Clovis, New Mexico; her 2 sisters, Patty Richard of Pittsburg, Kansas, Donna Salsbury of Kansas City, Missouri and Glenn and Cheryl Salsbury of Frontenac, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, gifts honoring Judy’s life may be made to The Children’s Home of Lubbock, P.O. Box 2824, Lubbock, Texas 79408 or Christian Children’s Home of Portales, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130.
