Obituary for Sue Barrett (George)

Sue Barrett (George)
Mable Sue (George) Barrett passed to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Farwell. She was born May 22, 1933 in Flomot, Texas to James Harrison and Oma Lee (Kuykendall) George. She married J.B. Barrett in Flomot on October 2, 1952.

Sue was a lovely Christian woman who was blessed with the ability to be a great caregiver. No one ever had anything bad to say about Sue, not even her son-in-law or daughter-in-law. Sue took great care of her husband, J.B. for over 60 years, often acting as his other hand. Together they had two children. As a mother, Sue loved caring for her children and nourishing them with the best fried foods. Their children blessed them with six grandchildren. She took her care-giving role to the next level, as she cared for them during times of need. Sue was always there for family, friends and loved ones whenever they needed help. She would work tirelessly and often be embarrassed if anyone thanked her. She was a great servant to the Lord, her family and friends. The family is thankful that she has been made whole and now in her heavenly home. With no doubt when she entered the gates of heaven, she was welcomed with open arms and heard, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Sue is preceded in death by her husband, J.B. in 2013 and her parents.

Sue is survived by her son, Jay Be Barrett and his wife, Jana of Farwell, Texas; her daughter, Jana Headrick of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren, Joel Barrett, Jordan Barrett, Britton Barrett, Christian Barrett, Catherine Speer and Cheryl Millican; and ten great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh Millican, Neil Millican, Ruth Millican, Jared Millican, Isaiah Speer, Abigail Speer, Brooklyn Barrett, Addison Barrett, Bryce Kuhnhenn and Ireland Barrett.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church, 404 Avenue E, Farwell, Texas, 79325.
