Obituary for Carolyn M Stancell (Tallent)
Carolyn M. (Tallent) Stancell passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 in her home. She was born October 29, 1946 in Quanah, TX to Floyd and Thelma (Walton) Tallent. She married Bennie Stancell at Lariat on December 7, 1965. She was a loving farmer’s wife and a lifelong member of Lariat Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie in 2014.
Carolyn, affectionately known as “Mammer” by her grandchildren and close friends, loved her family deeply. They were her greatest pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger, and her hospitality knew no bounds. She enjoyed serving others by hand stitching quilts with the Lariat Golden Girls.
Carolyn is survived by her three sons, Steven Stancell and his wife, Elaine of Muleshoe, TX, Carey Stancell and his wife Kathy of West Camp, TX and Kyle Stancell and his wife, Molly of Lariat, TX; her two sisters, Laurie Frans of Weatherford, OK and Brenda Chambers of Del City, OK; her brother, Leslie Tallent of Mid West City, OK; her fourteen grandchildren, Stephanie, Austin, Adam, Carson, Zacarey, Bretton, Taylor, Kendal, Trace, Corey, Brayden, Caitlyn, Emily and Ethan; and her two great-grandchildren, Kaizlea and Eli.
