Alex "Big A" Garcia, age 77, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Tuesday, January 4, 2021 in Muleshoe. He was born August 28, 1944 in Gonzales, Texas to Timotea Garcia Villa. He married Maria Orozco in Muleshoe on September 21, 1970.

Alex served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Bailey County EMS for over 25 years, and was a valued member of the service. Alex was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Villa and Camillo Villa; one sister, Nellie Guiterrez; and one grandson, Drew Hodge.

Alex is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Maria; his son, Anthony Garcia and his wife, Heather of Muleshoe, Texas; his two daughters, Elizabeth Hodge and her husband, Willie of Amarillo, Texas and Christy Garcia of Muleshoe, Texas; his three sisters, JoAnn Mondragon of Hereford, Texas, Filipa Ybarra of San Antonio, Texas and Sylvia Benavidez of Hereford, Texas; his brother, Angel Villa of Dumas, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
