Obituary for Arlene H Bowden (Hibnar)

Arlene Bowden, age 92, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Monday, August 16, 2021 in Grapevine, Texas. She was born January 26, 1929 in Mishawaka, Indiana to William Henry and Hazel (Blanchard) Hibnar. She married Hugh Bowden in South Bend, Indiana on May 29, 1948.

Arlene was the co-owner and operator of Sparkle Cleaners in Clovis, along with her husband, for many years. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis, where she taught 4th grade Sunday school a long time. Arlene enjoyed being a member of the Central Baptist Glory Choir. She loved being a wife, mother and Mam-Ma. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; her parents; a daughter, Pamela Bowden; a grandson, Christian Collins; two sisters, Helen Watters and Wilda Cruse; and two brothers, Harold Hibnar and Garold Hibnar.

Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Debby Chisum and her husband, Mike of Clovis, New Mexico and Kelli Collins of Grapevine, Texas; her two sisters, Lorna Hazard of Cassopolis, Michigan and Doris (Nelson) Yockey of Phymouth, Indiana; her nine grandchildren, Andrea Lupo and her husband, Lee and Mandy Hatley and her husband, Wes, Samantha Collins, Stefani Collins, Summer Collins, Chancellor Collins, Sundi Collins, Colemann Collins and Syli Collins; and her six great-grandchildren, Kevin Lupo, Shelby Lupo, Henley Hatley, Jace Collins, Mason Collins and Kylie Collins.
