Atanacio "Nacho" Martinez died Friday, November 15, 2019 in Muleshoe. He was born May 1, 1943 in Begona, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose and Celia (Rodriguez) Martinez. He married
Maria Alvarado in Muleshoe on September 25, 1998.
Nacho moved to Muleshoe in the 1960’s. He owned and operated 3 gas stations in Muleshoe- Gulf, Texaco and Chevron. He loved cookouts, soccer and baseball. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Nacho is survived by his wife, Maria; his two sons, Jesse G. Olivas of Lubbock, Texas and Toby Martinez and his wife, Amy of Muleshoe, Texas; his five daughters, Christine Olivarez of Muleshoe, Texas, Ernestine Olivarez of Ft. Worth, Texas, Sandy Olivas of Muleshoe, Texas, Consuelo Mora and her husband, Ezequiel of Lubbock, Texas and Yvette Cardenas of Lubbock, Texas; his six sisters, Concepcion Vasquez of Muleshoe, Texas, Guadalupe Guzman of Muleshoe, Texas, Maria Fuentes of Houston, Texas, Sylvia Guzman of Odessa, Texas, Carmen Pacheco of Houston, Texas and Lorenza Hernandez of Austin, Texas; his two brothers, Juan Martinez of Virginia and Jose A. Martinez of Kerrville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
