Cecil "Junior" Mills, age 95, of Logan, New Mexico and formerly of Muleshoe, Texas, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in Amarillo, Texas. He was born January 14, 1928 in Cochran County, Texas to Edgar and Laura (Connally) Mills, and married Winnie Chambers.
Junior served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Muleshoe Motor Company for over 50 years, and co-owned Muleshoe Body Shop for 35 years. He loved fishing, hunting and archery. Junior was a creative cook, and specialized in funny exotic dishes. In his later years, his passion was sewing. His homemade pot holders and prayer pockets are everywhere. He also enjoyed making cards by hand. Junior was a jack of all trades. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a charter member. He is preceded in death by his wife, Winnie; a daughter, Gayle Morris; a grandson, David Blue; his parents; three sisters, Lula Harrison, Sara McClendon and Louise Mills; son-in-law, Ronnie Foshee; and a brother, Ennis Mills.
Junior is survived by his son, Jimmy Mills of Logan, New Mexico; his two daughters, Linda Foshee of Littlefield and Daina Blue of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
