Obituary for David Wayne Ratliff
David Wayne Ratliff, age 65, of Progress, TX, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022. During the last few months, he has been having issues with the heart until passing while sleeping peacefully on Saturday. Even during this time, he wanted to continue with his daily life, trying to help those he loved.
David was born in November 13, 1956 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Milfred and Eula Ratliff. He graduated high school in Hobbs NM in 1975. David was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, from a Cub to an Eagle. He grew to enter New Mexico University and then Eastern New Mexico University to get a masters in microbiology with a minor in biology. After graduating, he went on to do things which he enjoyed such as home construction, to leather and wood craft. He even enjoyed cooking and baking trying his hand at fine cuisine. David was a long member of the First Christian Church.
David is survived by his mother Eula Faye Ratliff, of Muleshoe, TX; his sister Renee Ratliff of Muleshoe, TX, and family, Katharine (David's niece) and Jim Davis and family of Orlando, FL. Chris Baker (David's nephew) and family of Muleshoe TX. His sister Cyndi and Allen Garrison, their son, Eric, (David's nephew) and Kristine and family of Hobbs NM. He is Preceded in death by his father, Milfred O. Ratliff.
Memorial services to be announced at a later date. The Interment will be at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery.
