Obituary for Dewitt Kelley
Dewitt Kelley died Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 22 days. He was born March 5, 1942 in Muleshoe, Texas to Chester and Vivian (Park) Kelley. He married Kay Jones in Earth on December 22, 1962.
Dewitt was the first baby born in the Muleshoe hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a farmer and cattleman for many years. Dewitt loved to fish and enjoyed taking family lake trips. He also treasured his greyhounds. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Dewitt is survived by his wife, Kay; his three sons, Brent Been and his wife, Karla of Earth, Texas, Alan Been and his wife, Kathy of Earth, Texas and Wade Kelley of Earth, Texas; his daughter, Carmen Gentry and her husband, Melvin of Dell City, Texas; his three sisters, Nancy Landis of Odessa, Texas, Peggy Stephens of Andrews, Texas and Kathy Allison and her husband, Sam of Amarillo, Texas; his brother, John Kelley and his wife, Vickie of Earth, Texas; his eight grandchildren, Shane Been and his wife, Tracy, Brenda Been, Cory Been and his wife, Cassie, Quentin Been and his wife, Deidre, Justin Been, Barry Gentry and his wife, Shannon, Kody Gentry and his wife, Kellye and Kasey Gentry; and his ten great-grandchildren, Sam Alderson, Kenton Been, Janae Johnson, Brazos Been, Presley Been, Tanner Gentry, Jolee Gentry, Rylan Gentry, Acy Gentry and Evy Gentry.
