Obituary for Franklin Eugene "Frank" McCamish
Franklin Eugene McCamish, Frank, passed from this life to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
Frank was born July 5, 1934, to Lee and Ruby Bowen McCamish in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. The family settled in Bledsoe, Texas, where Frank graduated high school. He married Melba Glee Hiner in August of 1953 in Portales, New Mexico. After 50 years of marriage, Melba passed away in 2003.
Frank farmed and worked for Amarada Oil Company, and then began his long career at Bailey County Electric Cooperative in Muleshoe in 1959. He retired from BCEC in 1996.
Frank married Savannah Killough in 2009. Together they enjoyed lots of camping and fishing. Frank loved square dancing, camping in the mountains, and playing dominoes. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Melba, one sister, Hazel, and three brothers Byrd, Herb, and Clark.
He is survived by his wife Savannah, “Shug”, of Muleshoe; one daughter, Beverly Beggs of Slaton; one son, Boyd McCamish and wife, Cecilia, of Seabrook; three granddaughters: Brianne Glasscock and husband, Tate, of Floydada; Kelsey Beggs of Plainview; and Ashley Criswell and husband, Todd, of Plainview; one grandson, Brandon McCamish and wife, Katie, of Hereford; one sister, Barbara Bilbrey of Bledsoe; three great granddaughters, Tatum Glasscock, Madison McCamish, and Elizabeth Criswell; two great grandsons, Trace Glasscock and Kellen McCamish; lots of special loved-ones in the Killough extended family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
