Obituary for Fred Clements

Frederick Allen Clements passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Muleshoe. He was born February 8, 1929 in Bovina, Texas to Henry and Madge Clements.

Fred moved with his parents to Muleshoe in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 42 years before retiring in 1992. He loved the Muleshoe community and was a devoted volunteer to several organizations, including the Muleshoe Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years. Fred cherished his friendships and often spoke of how lucky he was to have so many good friends in his life.

Fred is survived by his son, Tom and his wife, Lynda of Mount Vernon, Washington; and three grandsons, Jeff Clements, Collin Clements and Jared Clements and his wife, Zhanna of Seattle, Washington.

Fred’s family would like to express our thanks to the staff and nurses at Park View Nursing Home and Dr. Bruce Purdy for their love and care of dad and Grandad. Thanks also go to Raul Torres for his kindness for being there during difficult times over the past two years. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Oneita Wagnon Senior Center, PO Box 292, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347 or Muleshoe Meals on Wheels, 300 South 1st Street, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347 or Muleshoe Volunteer Fire Department, 215 South 1st Street, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347.
