Obituary for Harry Sheets

Harry Sheets, age 91, of Farwell, Texas, died Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Farwell. He was born January 15, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico to Eugene Willis and Virginia Lee (Hames) Sheets. He married Mina Jennings in Clovis on December 28, 1974.

Harry served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed his time in the Navy and served on the USS Valley Forge. He served in the Sundowner Squadron. Harry was able to spend a week on the USS Ronald Reagan with his son and grandson, on what was known as a tiger cruise. He enjoyed traveling, flying and taking cruises. Harry was a founding member of the Farwell Country club and a charter member of the Texico-Farwell Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He loved playing golf and painting. Harry is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy Watts Eldridge; a grandson, Tyler Blake Sheets; and a great-grandson, Nolan James Sheets.

Harry is survived by his wife, Mina; his three sons, Dr. Kyle Sheets and his wife, Bernita of Abilene, Texas, Dr. Gene Sheets and his wife, Melody of Lubbock, Texas and Kayle Lenn Watts and his wife, Denise of Lubbock, Texas; his daughter, LaShawn Brown of Amarillo, Texas; his two sisters, Pauline Scott of Flower Mound, Texas and Wanda Erwin of Ranger, Texas; his nineteen grandchildren; and his forty-six great-grandchildren.
