Obituary for J C Gatewood
J C Ringland Gatewood, age 83, of Muleshoe, Texas died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Muleshoe. He was born September 15, 1938 in Muleshoe to Larless and Beulah (Talent) Gatewood. He married Zona Millen in Muleshoe on June 11, 1961.
J C served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed farming, fishing and watching T.V., especially Fox News. J C loved talking politics. “PawPaw” loved and took great delight in all of his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Loraine Suratt and Wanda Stanfield; and one brother, Boyce Gatewood.
J C is survived by his wife, Zona; his two sons, Kim Gatewood of Clovis, New Mexico and Christopher Gatewood and his wife, Padrah of Tyler, Texas; his daughter, Zonell Baker and her husband, Rodney of Muleshoe, Texas; his sister, Linda Magnan and her husband, Mark of Belton, Texas; his two brothers, Cappy J Gatewood of Levelland, Texas and Ingle Gatewood of Hamilton, Texas; his five grandchildren, Kenley King and her husband, Nathan, Kaleb Baker, Judd Baker, Landry Gatewood and Reece Gatewood; and one great-grandson, Baker King.
The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33607.
