Obituary for Johnnie Ferris (Taylor)
Johnnie Ferris died Saturday, July 13, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was born July 21, 1948 in Danville, Arkansas to Oathes Ray and Ann (Vosburg) Taylor. She married Wayne Ferris in Pecos, Texas on November 8, 1966.
Johnnie grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico and graduated from Carlsbad High School, before attending beauty college. She enjoyed dancing and was an avid gardener. She loved flowers and was a wonderful cook. Johnnie was a social butterfly and loved everyone, but treasured her family most of all. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Darrel Taylor.
Johnnie is survived by her husband, Wayne; her son, Blain and his wife, Jennifer of Hereford, Texas; her daughter, Jodie Beaty of Portales, New Mexico; her sister, Teri Owens and her husband, Robert of Carlsbad, New Mexico; and her five grandchildren, Austin Beaty, Averye Hix and her husband, Kaden, Addison Ferris, Jessalyn Beaty and John Ferris.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Hope Lodge of Lubbock, 3513 – 10th Street, Lubbock, Texas, 79415.
