Obituary for Larry Greene
Larry Greene, age 87, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Dawson County Cemetery with Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe officiating. There will be a visitation from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe. Larry died Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born April 10, 1933 in Levelland, Texas to Lewis and Gladys Dale (Hall) Greene. He married Janie Forbus in Lovington, New Mexico on January 5, 1956.
Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman and loved good country music and dancing. He enjoyed watching westerns and going to casinos. His main hobby was buying and selling cars. Larry loved to make beef jerky, named PapPa’s Beef Jerky by his grandson, Rantz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janie; his parents; a brother, Bobby Greene; and a sister, Sherry Greene.
Larry is survived by his two sons, Lance Greene and his wife, Sandy of Kermit, Texas and Larry Craig and his wife, Darlene of Arizona, Texas; his daughter, Kim Hunt and her husband, Mike of Muleshoe, Texas; his sister, Sandy Greene Matthews of Las Vegas, Nevada; his brother, Fred Greene of Pahrump, Nevada; his six grandchildren, Rantz Anderson and his wife, Abby, Landon Greene, Holly Hunt and her fiancé, Jordan, Corey Baker and his wife, Geneva, and Matt Alderson and his wife, Sheena; six great-grandchildren, Rhett Anderson, Kaitlin Baker, Kaneon Baker, Steven Craig, Coe Hardin, Ava Alderson and Braxton Alderson; one great-grandson Anderson on the way; and numerous cousins, whom he loved dearly.
