Obituary for Larry "Pops" Alfred Jesko

Larry "Pops" Jesko, age 80, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Friday, August 27, 2021, in Muleshoe. He was born April 12, 1941, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Alexander John and Lucy Frances (Schmitz) Jesko. He was married to Sherri Francis.

Larry graduated from Farwell High School in 1959, before joining the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Red Angus Breeders Association and the Texas Junior Livestock Association, and he served on the Lazbuddie School Board for several years. Larry worked with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the San Antonio Livestock Show as well. He was the founder of the Phillip Brian Jesko Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lazbuddie ISD. Larry was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Friona, Texas and the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his son, Phillip Brian Jesko; his parents; two brothers, Donald Jesko and Kenneth Jesko; and three sisters, Mary Carolyn Jesko, Elaine Frances Larson and Judith Ann Dennis.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sherry; his two sons, Jeffery Jesko and his wife, Mary of Flower Mound, Texas and Jason Jesko and his wife, Karen of Sugarland, Texas; two sisters, Billie Jean Glenn of Amarillo, Texas and Debbie Gallman and her husband, Dale of Bovina, Texas; two brothers, Lee Dennis Jesko and his wife, Brenda of Lazbuddie, Texas and Andrew Wayne Jesko and his wife, Liz of Lazbuddie, Texas; and his seven grandchildren.
