Obituary for Larry Treider

A Celebration of Life for Larry Treider, age 79, of Lazbuddie, Texas, is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe. Larry passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 in Lazbuddie. He was born July 3, 1940 in Alburquerque, New Mexico to Juel and Francis (Menefee) Treider. He married Paula Lowe in Clovis, New Mexico.

Larry grew up in the community of Lazbuddie. He was a remarkably gifted singer and band leader. He spent his life making music. Throughout his career, he and his band toured 42 states. Larry also recorded with several major record labels. He had the honor of being inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in September of 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bobbie Grant and Billy McGee.

Larry is survived by his wife, Paula; his son, Shane Treider and his wife, Lonna of Lubbock, Texas; his four daughters, Tammy VanNatter and her husband, Billy of Kansas City, Missouri, Jacque Owen and her husband, Lyn of White Deer, Texas, Dvette Treider of Amarillo, Texas and Kami McGrath of Seattle, Washington; his two sisters, Jeanette Hurt and her husband, Earl of Bovina, Texas and Imogene Smith and her husband, David of Friona, Texas; his brother, Ted Treider and his wife, Adell of Lazbuddie, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
