Lavena "Jean" Smith, age 76, of Farwell, Texas, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Farwell. She was born October 19, 1944, in Clovis to John R. and Evelyn (North) Hadley. She married Eddie Brian Smith in Texico, New Mexico on June 16, 1962.

Jean was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She treasured her family, and loved spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond Hadley; two sisters, Gale Harrison and LouAnn Larson; and her son-in-law, Gary Jennings.

Jean is survived by her husband, Eddie; her son, Steven Smith and his wife, Tammy of Elfrida, Arizona; her daughter, Sheila Jennings of Farwell, Texas; her sister, Linda Harrison of Clovis, New Mexico; her brother, Richard Hadley of Clovis, New Mexico; her six grandchildren, Chance Smith and his wife Iliana; Will Smith and his wife Trish, Shaye Clemson and her husband, Tyler, Kyle Jennings and his wife, Lesley, Kory Jennings and his fiance, Raeona Sanders and Keila Jennings; her thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
