Obituary for Linda Joyce Locke (Roberts)
Linda Roberts Locke, age 77, of Sudan, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born January 31, 1945 in Lubbock to Walter and Willie (Craddick) Roberts. She married Ansil Locke in Ruidoso, New Mexico on September 1, 1965.
Linda graduated from high school in Ruidoso. She was a faithful and spiritual woman. She was a collector of many things and loved flowers, especially iris’s and red hot pokers. Linda also enjoyed fishing at Ute Lake. She was a member of Sudan Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Walter Roberts, Jack Roberts, Thomas Roberts, Doyal Roberts and Elvan Roberts; and a niece, Dinah Roberts.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ansil; her two sons, James Locke and his wife, Julie of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Timothy Locke of Sudan, Texas; her daughter, Traylin Locke of Sudan, Texas; her three sisters, Patsy Bourland of Groves, Texas, Barbara Smith of DeLeon, Texas and Judy White of Ruidoso, New Mexico; her brother, Square Roberts of Abilene, Texas; her three grandchildren, Austin Locke, Shaylynn Mount and Mason Locke; and her great-granddaughter, Makenzie Mount.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the New Mexico Children’s Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM, 88130.
There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later date.
