Obituary for Lona Mae Embry (Wilterding)
Our Mother, Lona Embry has seen the face of God. He saw her into this life on Nov. 14, 1926 and took her home on Jan 3, 2023.
Lona was raised by her parents Mervin and Mae Wilterding in the Muleshoe/YL communities. She married the love of her life, Calvin Embry on April 15, 1945 and to their delight they had four children, Elaine, Buddy, Aleene and Derrel. Lona was a farmer's wife, working right alongside Calvin. She enjoyed life and loved being around her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Calvin, daughter Elaine, son Buddy, great-grandson Caleb, her parents, two sisters Maurine (Wilterding) Hooten and Luella (Wilterding) Surguine.
Lona is survived by her daughter, Aleene of Lubbock, son Derrel and daughter-in-law, Kathy of Muleshoe, one brother Reece Wilterding and his wife Joy, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Death is not the end, but just the beginning as a new and wonderful journey with her God and heavenly family. See you in the blink of an eye! Love you Mother!
