Maggie Martinez, age 72, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born February 24, 1948 in Ballinger, Texas to Pablo and Maria (Garcia) De La Cerda. She married Arturo Ruiz in Muleshoe. After his death, she married Andres Martinez on March 19, 1989 in Muleshoe.

Maggie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe, where she was a Guadalupana. She was always volunteering at the church and helped with the local elections. Maggie was a very loving and generous person. She was a mother, grandmother and friend to many. Maggie is preceded in death by her first husband, Arturo and her parents.

Maggie is survived by her husband, Andy; her two sons, Arturo Ruiz Jr. and his wife, Kasey of Ramona, California and Andrew Ruiz of Levelland, Texas; her daughter, Anna Vargas and her husband, Leo of Levelland, Texas; her three step-children, Chris Martinez of Woodward, Oklahoma, Tamara Rosales and her husband, Jose of Woodward Oklahoma and Teresa Gonzalez and her husband, Jr. of Amarillo, Texas; her three sisters, Mary Lou Camarena of Port Arthur, Texas, Blanca Perkins of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Jane Wingerter of Louisville, Texas; her two brothers, Paul De La Cerda of Metairie, Louisana and Michael De La Cerda of Joppa, Maryland; her seventeen grandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren.
