Marcelo died Friday, May 20, 2022, in Morton. He was born January 16, 1939, in LaVilla, Texas. He married Maria Del Carmen Rosales in Edinburg, Texas, on July 20, 1977. The two moved to the West Texas area in 1978.

Marcelo was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and loved to collect antiques and rare coins. He loved his 1967 El Camino SS, drinking coffee at any time of the day and talking with this friends and family. His greatest passion in life was his family.

Marcelo was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Morton. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jose Rodriguez, Lupe Rodriguez, Jesus Rodriguez and Francisco Rodriguez; and two sisters, Celia Perez and Teresa Reyes.

Marcelo is survived by his wife, Carmen; his four sons, Ruben Rodriguez and his wife Kristi of Morton, Texas, Marcelo Rodriguez Jr. of Morton, Texas, Randall Rodriguez and his wife, Ana of Morton, Texas, and Pablo Alberto Ruiz and his wife, Nancy of McAllen, Texas; his two daughters, Roxanne Enriquez and her husband, Jamie of Shallowater, Texas, and Rosie Rodriguez of Morton, Texas; his sister, Josefina Pena of LaVilla, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
