Obituary for Mary Powell (McAteer)
Mary Elizabeth Powell, age 79, of Muleshoe, Texas died Monday, May 23, 2022, in Dimmitt, Texas. She was born August 31, 1942, in Chester Pennsylvania to John McAteer and Agnes (Grant) McAteer. She married Warren Richard Powell in Florida on September 13, 1979.
Mary was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Muleshoe, Texas. She enjoyed singing, dancing, doing all kinds of crafts, and loved animals, prior to her dementia. If she knew you were coming over she would make your favorite dish or dessert, just so she could watch you smile. Mary is preceded in death by her husband; Warren Powell; her father; her mother; Agnes Grant McAtee; her step-father, Donald Chattin Sr.; one son, Donald May; and five brothers, John McAteer, Donald Chattin Jr., Dan Chattin, Howard Chattin, and Garrett Chattin.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Mel Sharp and his wife Gina, of Ogden Utah and Mike Sharp and his wife, BJ of Muleshoe, Texas; one daughter; Monica Franco and her husband, Juan of Wittman, Arizona; and numerous grandchildren.
