Obituary for Mary Lois Sutton (Griffin)
Mary Lois Griffin Sutton died Monday April 6, 2020 in Ashland, Kentucky at the age of 92. She was born April 4, 1928 in Bledsoe, Texas to William Gun Griffin and Emmie Ellen Bilbrey Griffin. The family owned the local grocery store in Bledsoe. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Sutton in May 1945, and they were married over 50 years. Mary Lois was a member of the Bledsoe Baptist Church and after moving to Roswell, New Mexico, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother JC Griffin and one sister Betty Ruth Burns. Her husband, Joe Sutton and two children, Steven Sutton and Velinda Sue Sutton.
Mary Lois is survived by a son, Michael Lynn and his wife, Maye of Andrews Texas. They have four children, Joyce San Angelo, Kristie Mickey, David Sutton and Tammi Sutton and six grandchildren, Lauren Mickey, Tyler Mickey, Abigail Loving, Ernaldo Sutton, Stetson Sutton and Nicholas Sutton,
Mary Lois was also survived by a daughter, Cynthia Sutton Rayburn and her husband, Lloyd Rayburn, formally of Ashland, Kentucky, now residing in Pasadena Texas. She has two children, Jordan Scott Warton and Jessica Griego and one grandson, Xander Gunn Griego. Steven Sutton had three sons, Brad Sutton, Brandon Sutton and Blake Sutton. He also had 4 grandchildren, Savannah Sutton, Treyton Sutton, Rosie Sutton and Porter Sutton.
