Obituary for Orville Keith Scott
Orville Keith Scott, age 87, of Lubbock, Texas, joined his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 24, 2022 in Lubbock. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 2:00pm at the Farwell Community Center in Farwell, Texas, with Zac Teston of Las Vegas, New Mexico officiating. He was born in 1934 in Wyoming to Ermel Clifton and Ann Louise (Spinks) Scott. He married Mildred Doolittle in Texico, New Mexico on November 23, 1958.
Keith served in the US Army during the Korean War. He farmed and raised livestock for over 22 years in the Texico community. He then became a rural mail carrier from 1982 until 2000. Keith loved singing and music, and he played guitar, mandolin and harmonica. He was a hard worker, whether he was being a farmer, cowboy or mail carrier. Keith was very proud of his family, and taught all of them God’s word. He was a long time Baptist and taught Sunday School. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, grandson, Matt; and his brother, Arthur James Scott.
Keith is survived by his two sons, Michael Scott and his wife, Pamela of Farwell, Texas and Aaron Scott and his wife, Brienna of Clovis, New Mexico; his two daughters, Cheryl McKinzie of Muleshoe, Texas and Ruth Kostedt and her husband, Glenn of Denver City, Texas; his ten grandchildren, Scott, Charity, Hope, Christopher, Robin, Sara, Jaden, Jera, Jaebri and M’Leah; and his four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or the charity of your choice.
