Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, his 5 sisters, and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; his son, Gabriel Villegas and his wife Cami of Lubbock, Texas; his three daughters, Amanda Soto and her husband, Marcos of Muleshoe, Texas, Brenda Montiel and her husband, Jesse of Muleshoe, Texas and Samantha Hernandez and her husband, Jesus of Sudan, Texas; his brother, Daniel Villegas of Lovington, New Mexico; and his 15 grandchildren.
