Lois moved with her family from Farmer’s Branch to Levelland, Texas where she attended Pettit Schools. Lois was a member of First Baptist Church in Clovis. She was also a member of the Curry County Extension Club and was an avid bowler. Lois was an excellent cook, who regularly prepared feasts for her family. Any friends who “dropped in” at mealtime knew they would be welcomed to join in the family banquet. Lois loved her family and enjoyed attending various family functions. She is preceded in death by her husband, R.L. “Tiny” Lewis; her parents; her eleven siblings; a son, Leonard Eugene “Gene” Lewis; and two grandchildren, Debra Jean Lewis and Rhonda Vanlandingham.

Lois is survived by a son, Bobby Lewis of Overbrook, Oklahoma; two daughters, Connie Cox and her husband, Terry of Clovis, New Mexico and Peggy Carter and her husband, Warren E. “Lucky” Carter of Logan, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
