Obituary for Rudy Florez
Rudy Florez, age 69, of Morton, Texas, died Thursday, January 20, 2023, in Levelland, Texas. He was born January 20, 1953, in Cashion, Arizona, to Florence Florez. Rudy was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Pablo and Maria Refugia Florez in Candelaria, Texas.
Rudy was a quiet and simple man who enjoyed time with his family. He was a faithful servant of the Lord, and attended church at Iglesia Bautista Rayos de Luz in Morton. At times, he would even ride his scooter to church when he was not able to walk there. He loved his extended family as if they were his own. He was loved by many, and will be missed by many more.
He is preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Pablo and Maria Refugia; and a sister Dora Cabezuela.
He is survived by his brother, Samuel Mendoza of Morton, Texas; a brother-in-law, Jose Cabezuela of Morton, Texas; two nieces, Mona Greener of Lubbock, Texas and Rose Gonzalez of Morton, Texas; as well as a host of other extended family.
