Obituary for Shannon Southfield (Westra)
Shannon Raní Southfield, 46, of Farwell, passed from this world on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Farwell. She was born September 12, 1975 in Ontario, California to Richard and Joan (Hibma) Westra. She married the love of her life, Mark Southfield in Palm Desert, California on November 19, 2016.
Shannon was a loving and caring wife, sister, daughter and friend. She grew up on the family dairy in Chino, California. Shannon attended Ontario Christian School in Ontario, California. After high school she attended dental assistant school and worked as a dental assistant in Redlands, California. The family dairy later relocated to Portales, NM where Shannon assumed the responsibilities of bookkeeper for the business after her mother’s passing. Shannon will always be remembered by her many friends and family for her contagious laughter, her sharp wit and the loving care she so freely gave.
Shannon was preceded in death by her mother, Joan and is survived by her husband, Mark; her father, Richard Westra of Portales, New Mexico; her sister, Angie Westra of Nazareth, Texas; her brother Roger Westra of Portales, New Mexico; her sisters-in-law, Andrea Bauwman and her husband, Rich of Visalia, California, Yvette TeVelde and her husband, Chad of Frederick, Colorado and Sarah Bond and her husband, Matt of Redlands, California; her brother-in-law, Eric Southfield and his wife, Wendy of Roswell, New Mexico; her eight nieces, Alishia Osterkamp, Bridget Osterkamp, Jorydan TeVelde, Gracyn TeVelde, MaKenzie TeVelde, Justine Bouwman, Marcie Southfield and Ryan Bond; and her seven nephews, Jake Bouwman, John Bouwman, James Bouwman, Cayden VonWinkleman, Daniel Southfield, Cooper Bond and Cameron Bond.
