Socorro Rivera Gallegos died Monday, December 2, 2019 in Muleshoe. She was born November 25, 1926 in La Cruz, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus and Tomasa (Acosta) Rivera. She married Aurelio Gallegos in Mexico on August 24, 1947.
Socorro was a homemaker and liked to sing. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio in 2010; her parents; a daughter, Tomasa Guzman; and 3 grandchildren.
Socorro is survived by her son, Leonardo Gallegos, Sr. and his wife, Diana of Muleshoe, Texas; her 2 daughters, Martha Pedroza of Evanson, Wyoming and Rebeca Lozano and her husband, Gonzalo, Sr. of Muleshoe, Texas; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests donations be sent the Muleshoe Meal on Wheels, Bailey County Courthouse, 300 South 1st Street, Suite 110, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347.
