Wanda (Burris) Kemp died Monday, January 27, 2020 in Muleshoe. She was born June 4, 1934 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to James Elmer and Guirty Orean (Jones) Burris. She married James A. Kemp in Clovis, New Mexico on June 14, 1953.
Wanda loved to sing and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Muleshoe. She is preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; two brothers, Jackie Lee Burris and Sonny Burris; and two sisters, Jonnie Ivy and Naomi Burris.
Wanda is survived by her son Larry Kemp and his wife, Connie of Lazbuddie, Texas; her two daughters, Priscilla Olsen of Branson, Missouri and Lena Gartin and her husband, Gary Don of Muleshoe, Texas; her two sisters, Jean Kemp of Muleshoe, Texas and Libby Black of Lubbock, Texas; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Muleshoe Meals on Wheels, Bailey County Courthouse, 300 South 1st Street, Suite 110, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347.
